My sister-in-law suggested "You should post your favorites." At first I thought this an impossible task. I take photos of what I see without much thought of will it be likable or a favorite. Then I process it on my computer. If the image is worthless, it is deleted. The rest I save. When I make a posting or photo-book, I will select the ones I like. Because I shoot in RAW, significant computer processing is necessary. It is during that processing when I value the worthiness of the photograph. If this project is to work I had to delve into what makes a good, great, likable, favorite or bespoke photo.

There are three major components of a successful photo: light, subject and composition. The plan is to select images that might demonstrate these three components.
Light

Light gives images structure, emotion, feeling (warm, cool, harsh, dark).
It can be a cloudy or overcast day, taken in the Golden hour (sunrise and sunset), and the light can come from different directions.

Monochrome or color will give different feelings.

Camera or lens movement during shooting can capture light amongst the blur.

Fog or mist (atmosphere) plays on ones emotions or feelings.

Time of day will result in a different light, Blue Hour, Sunrise and Sunset.

Silhouette photos take often into the light.

Rainbows

Night photos can emphasize light in the darkness.

Light draws your eye. What do you see first in this town square?

This is the end of part 1: Light
Next will be part 2 Subject, which I am working on now. They should be ready in a few days. Some subject photos I already have on this site and will not repeat them, Waterfalls, Birds, and Flowers. They can be viewed by clicking on the name at the header. As with photos on this page (Light) some already appear on earlier post.
